The primary challenge was to keep the new terrace warm during each game. Green Bay’s home games are some of the coldest in the NFL, with Lambeau Field holding the record for the coldest game ever played at -37 degrees Fahrenheit with the wind chill, while their playoff games average around 21 degrees Fahrenheit.

Uncovering The HVAC Solution: Bromic Infrared Heaters
To address this challenge, the Gunn & Pegelow team collaborated closely with Somerville Architects to design a custom heating solution using Bromic Tungsten Electric Infrared Heaters. These heaters were chosen for their seamless design and effective operation, and have been utilized by Gunn & Pegelow on various projects in the past.
Specifically, the Gunn & Pegelow team recommended six Tungsten 4kW Electric 277V Black Heaters with Dimmer Controls. The dimmer controls allow individual control of the heating output for each heater, providing flexible and efficient heating tailored to the specific needs of the terrace.

Our process began with an in-depth exploration of the challenge and design needs with the engineering team. We developed an iterative and comprehensive solution, created the bid, and partnered with local mechanical installers for seamless execution.
